When It Feels Like You Were Made for More

Ever asked yourself these questions?

                * Why am I here?
                * Why was I made this way?
                * Why is this my life?

These questions reveal one thing--we feel like we were made for more.

When Hannah Anderson's daughter asked similar questions of her second grade teacher on her first day of school, these questions hit home. Hannah started wrestling with the answers.

And she wrote a book.

This world is broken and it leaves its pieces strewn across our paths.

But the One who is whole and wholly real and unbroken made you and me, and He stamped His image on the very essence of who we are.

That didn't cease when the world broke.

Our broken world--around us and within--is simply a daily reminder that we were made for more.
"Your life has intrinsic value, not simply because of who you are as an individual, but because of who He is as your God . . . Your life is sacred because He has stamped His identity onto yours." (p. 33)

Who we are is wrapped up in how our lives represent the very God who made us.

So we love Him; we love others.  We work. We fulfill who He made us to be.
Because we are "personally shaped to reflect His unique nature." (p. 139)

When you feel like you were made for more, you were.

Our truest identity is found in His.
"All that matters is that you are precisely who He has made you to be, and one day He will make you to be more than you could ever imagine. One day He will make you like Himself." (p. 147)

We will be who we were made to be, when we image Him in the unique way He designed for each of us.

We will live more fully, when we realize we were "Made for More".

  4. Hi Bethany,

Nice to be here again. Your's and Hannah's lines: "When you feel like you were made for more, you were. Our truest identity is found in His. 'All that matters is that you are precisely who He has made you to be,'"-- are encouraging.

God must have been putting similar things on our hearts this week,
